In 2024, the import price in the Middle East amounted to $5,160 per ton, rising by 8.1% against the previous year. Import price indicated a notable expansion from 2013 to 2024: its price increased at an average annual rate of +4.9% over the last eleven-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2024 figures, porcelain tableware and kitchenware import price decreased by -6.7% against 2022 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2016 when the import price increased by 16% against the previous year. The level of import peaked at $5,528 per ton in 2022; however, from 2023 to 2024, import prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major importing countries. In 2024, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was the United Arab Emirates ($5,964 per ton), while Lebanon ($2,729 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

Turkey was the largest exporting country with an export of around 27K tons, which recorded 58% of total exports. The United Arab Emirates (12K tons) ranks second in terms of the total exports with a 25% share, followed by Iran (15%).
Exports from Turkey increased at an average annual rate of +4.2% from 2013 to 2024. At the same time, Iran (+9.5%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Iran emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in the Middle East, with a CAGR of +9.5% from 2013-2024. By contrast, the United Arab Emirates (-1.2%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. While the share of Turkey (+7.9 p.p.) and Iran (+7.3 p.p.) increased significantly in terms of the total exports from 2013-2024, the share of the United Arab Emirates (-14 p.p.) displayed negative dynamics.
In value terms, Turkey ($125M) remains the largest porcelain tableware and kitchenware supplier in the Middle East, comprising 61% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was taken by the United Arab Emirates ($55M), with a 27% share of total exports.
From 2013 to 2024, the average annual growth rate of value in Turkey amounted to +7.5%. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: the United Arab Emirates (+2.1% per year) and Iran (+4.2% per year).
The export price in the Middle East stood at $4,425 per ton in 2024, leveling off at the previous year. Over the last eleven years, it increased at an average annual rate of +2.3%. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2023 an increase of 19% against the previous year. The level of export peaked in 2024 and is expected to retain growth in the near future.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major exporting countries. In 2024, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was the United Arab Emirates ($4,717 per ton), while Iran ($2,765 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2013 to 2024, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by the United Arab Emirates (+3.4%), while the other leaders experienced mixed trends in the export price figures.
