Mar 14, 2024Mar 14, 2024

Glass Alliance-New Mexico invites military veterans and their children and families to take part in a free glassblowing event to be held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sept. 9 at Prairie Dog Glass at Jackalope, 2820 Cerrillos Road.

There are a limited number of spaces available, and registration is required. Those interested can sign up at tinyurl.com/3eeawp5k.

Participants will work with an experienced glass artist and create items like a glass, vase or paperweight, according to a news release from the Glass Alliance. After cooling overnight, items will be available for pickup the next day.

“We are pleased to acknowledge the service of local veterans by offering them this unique creative opportunity,” said event organizer Willi Haye. “Some will discover their ‘inner artist,’ and all will have a good time making glass art.”
